Cleaning Your AR-15 / M4 Rifles

Cleaning the Bore

1. Make sure your weapon is empty and there is no magazine in the weapon
2. Observe the inside of the chamber while pulling the charging handle completely to the rear
3. Make sure your bolt and bolt carrier are in the forward position, if they are locked back press the bolt release on the left side
4. Now you can remove the 2 take down pins, on the lower receiver, upper and lower should seperate at that point
5. Next you can pull the charging handle to the rear, until the bolt assembly can be pulled out by hand
6. By this point you can clean the barrel, and keep the bolt assembly for more detailed cleaning

Cleaning the Bolt

1. Take the bolt and pull the firing pin out of the position
2. Turn the cam pin and remove it from the bolt assembly
3. Now the bolt carrier should seperate from the bolt (This is all that is recommended for cleaning)
4. Make sure you assemble put the cam pin back in, or it will lead to potential injuries
