Founded in1991, by George Kellgren, Kel-Tec Arms was well known for firearms design prior to forming Kel-Tec. With the production of Tec-9 type firearms in the early 1980s, as well as a few designs which were produced in Sweden prior to coming to the USA.

Kel Tec, over the last decade has become a very diversified firearms maker, with rifles, carbines, and pistols. Kel-Tec is dedication to the development of its quality firearms line by the creation of a 100m indoor quality testing range in their Cocoa, Florida, plant. Kel-Tec handguns have become one of the top ten firearms bought in the last year.
