Galco Leather

Galco International was founded in 1969 by Richard N. Gallagher as a small family run business.  Based in Chicago, Illinois, "The Original Jackass Leather Company" specialized in holsters constructed of horsehide.  Galco first started experimenting with thermoplastic holster in the mid 70's.

The name Galco became a part of American culture in 1980 shortly before the company moved from Chicago to Phoenix, Arizona, where they are now presently located. Galco gained worldwide notoriety, when Don Johnson chose to wear the Jackass shoulder rig in the popular TV series "Miami Vice". Known as the "Miami Classic" the shoulder rig continues to be the most famous, recognizable, and imitated (but never duplicated) shoulder holster rig ever made.

Galco continues to be the favorite choice of Hollywood's hottest stars, and favorite movies, but most branches of the military, federal law enforcement, and most local law enforcement agencies have put Galco holster to work for them.  The general public has found Galco to be the highest quality the industry has to offer.  Premium saddle leather, Ballistic nylon, and of course horsehide, all contributed to making Galco famous "for those who demand the best... and know the difference".
