Hi-Point guns, sometime known as Beemiller, is based in Dayton, Ohio, and was founded February 18, 1992. Known for their low cost pistol and carbines, using the .380 ACP ( Hi-Point CF380 and Hi-Point 380COMP ), 9mm Luger ( Hi-Point C9 and Hi-Point C9 COMP pistol and Hi-Point 995 Carbine), .40 S&W ( Hi-Point 40SW pistol and Hi-Point 4095 Carbine ), and .45 ACP ( Hi-Point .45ACP pistol and Hi-Point 4595 Carbine), Hi-Point is distributed by MKS Supply.

The Hi-Point pistols are made of a polymer frame and a simple inexpensive design, resulting in less jams and misfires. Hi-Point decided to trade-off aesthetics and go for an inexpensive simpler blowback design resulting in a lower manufacturing cost and creating a less expensive consumer pistol. The results were a somewhat heavier gun, a little less aesthetically pleasing, but a sturdy, appealing, gun employing a recoil operation. With a retail price one-half to one-quarter the cost of a comparable chambered gun, it’s no wonder Hi-Point guns are becoming so popular.
