First things first...thoroughly clean your Taurus before firing.
All that factory gunk & stuff will cause your firearm to Fail To Feed.
Disassembly/Assembly is easy. There are plenty of you-tube vids online showing how to do it. Clean the slide & barrel. Lightly oil/gunslick the rails. A thin coating of lubricant on all surfaces will be helpful.
Tip: Wipe the feed ramp with a really thin coat of Rem-oil ]or similar[.
Next, use decent ammunition. Federal, Magtech, any factory bulk load 115-124gr ]except the Russian/Mexican/reload garbage[ will feed/eject without problem.
Break-in your pistol with 200 rounds of bulk FMJ ammo.
Tap/rack/fire as necessary...probably not very often.
Be sure to ''bite the $$$ bullet'' and fire at least 40 rounds of the hollow point you plan to carry...preferably 100 rounds after initial break-in.
Ensure your chosen personal protection ammo works flawlessly in your gun.
My experience is 147 gr HP Winchester PP/115 +P HP Magtech works great.
Those loads are sufficient to get the bad guys attention.
The Taurus PT 111 Millenium Pro is extremely reliable.
Don''t let the gunsnobs tell you different.
The biggest difference between the big-name guns & Taurus is they cost approximately half the price and offer more concealable carry weapons in the PT 111 and 709 slim models.
Properly broken in, and maintained the Taurus PT 111 is a first-class pistol you can count on.
Haven''t had to bet my life on it ]yet[ but I''m willing to and do carry mine every day. Fits the ]small-medium sized[ hand great & there are plenty of available holsters out there.
9mm can''t be beat for price/availability/sufficient stopping power.
And the good thing about Taurus is IF you are unlucky enough to get a ''lemon'' you can send it back & ]in their own good time [ they will fix it & ship it back to you all fixed like new.

just what the subject says I won''t leave home without it I use to carry my M-Pro pt145 acp and I am very happy with that but when I got the PT111 after shooting it out of the box it went right into my holster, I have had no jams or misfires what so ever. price is good I''ve done about 300 rounds with it and I use targets with robber/hostage photos on them and with good results when shooting the robber only lost the hostage once or twice ok well maybe three times but it only wounded her ok all joking aside right out of the box the shots were right on at 50 feet even checking it with a lazer bore sight the sights were right on. the pt111 and the pt145 in that order are my favorite I do have a pt 24/7 ls that comes in 3rd.
