Springfield Armory

In 1777 George Washington ordered the creation of Springfield Armory to store revolutionary ammunition and gun carriages. For the next 150 years, Springfield Armory functioned as a supplier for every major American conflict as well as a “think tank” for new firearms concepts. With its rugged, battle-proven designs and unmatched reliability, Springfield Armory quickly developed its new civilian market, well ahead of any competition, successfully making the transition from military arms to sporting firearms.

Today, Springfield Armory is most popular for it’s XD pistol and 1911 pistol lines. Each a staple in its own right, the 1911 with its precision-fit forged frames, slide and barrels, and the XD pistols with easy no tool disassembly and diamond hard Melonite finish. We can’t forget the Springfield Armory M1A heavy barrel Rifle line, the cornerstone of the rifle industry.

• The shooter can check the striker status indicator by sight or touch to verify that the striker is in the cocked position
• The loaded chamber indicator and the striker status indicator can both be verified by touch, a critical feature in low-light situations.
• The Ultra Safety Assurance Trigger System guards against accidental discharge from dropping or bumping by locking the XD’s trigger in place until direct, rearward pressure is applied.
